細胞核膜上に多数ある核膜孔は核膜孔複合体から成り立っており、その複合体は約30 種類の核膜孔複合体因子（ヌクレオポリン）から構成されている。本研究課題では、NPCタンパク質の詳細な細胞内動態を解析すると共に、ナノポアの再構成を試みることを目的としている。これら見出した結果について、Cell Cycle誌の表紙を含む７つの論文を発表した (図１)（インパクトファクターは平均～５）本研究課題で本研究室に在籍した4人の大学院生は、全員に受賞実績がある。
The nuclear pore complex (NPC) is the major gatekeeper of macromolecular traffic between the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is composed of multiple subunits comprising ≈30 proteins called nucleoporins. During cell division, transmembrane nucleoporins and nuclear envelope membrane fragments move to the endoplasmic reticulum, while other nucleoporins are disassembled into subcomplexes that are distributed throughout the mitotic cytoplasm to kinetochore, spindle and centrosome regions. In this project, we are investigating the association of NPC proteins assembly and disassembly during cell division. We constantly published peer-reviewed papers with impact factor 5 and our graduate students all received awards in the society or conferences.
