ヨーロッパの形而上学と東洋思想を統一しようとしている現代日本哲学の根本概念、つまり「場所」や「無」そして「影像」などを探究した。その結果、日本哲学は、自身の伝統を果てなく考え直していく中国哲学や、ギリシャ哲学の根源から目的論的に科学の理想を目指してゆくような西洋哲学とは異なり、21世紀の世界のための哲学に重大な貢献をすると思われる。
Contemporary Japanese philosophy is trying to unify European metaphysics and Asian thought. This research explored some of its fundamental concepts such as "place", "nothingness" and "image". As a result, it can be shown how Japanese philosophy, by contrast to the Chinese way of endlessly rethink its own tradition, or to the Western speculation, aiming at the teleological ideal of science since the Greek source, has made a seminal contribution to the coming philosophy of the 21^<th> century.
