冷戦の開始に際して、アメリカおよび西欧諸国が行ったプロパガンダ政策について検討した。その結果、アメリカおよびイギリスが中心となって北大西洋条約機構（NATO）が同盟の魅力を発信するプロパガンダ政策に従事したことが明らかになった。また、アメリカで1940年代末に設立された非政府組織が、CIAの支援を受けながら連邦主義的なヨーロッパ建設を目指して様々なプロパガンダ政策を進めたこと、それがイギリスの統合への姿勢を変えなかったことが明らかとなった。
This research on the US/West European propaganda policies and their impact on the postwar European order revealed the following points. First, the US/UK governments took initiatives to set up propaganda office in NATO which tried to enhance the image of the alliance. Second, an non-governmental organization established in the US in the late 1940s carried out various propaganda policies in Europe with the CIA's support, but they did not have an impact on changing the UK stance to European integration.
