本研究は、競争的研究資金が拡充していく環境のなかで研究者の負担を減らし、効果的・効率的な研究実施を支えていくための、日本の大学が取りうる研究支援(リサーチアドミニストレーション)体制モデルを提示すること、またそのために組織を横断した情報交換を促進することを目的としている。そのために、まず日本のリサーチアドミニストレーションに関わる専門人材の配置状況調査を行い、その職務内容や雇用形態等を明らかにした。また、アメリカのリサーチアドミニストレーションの調査を行い、日本の状況との比較を行った。さらにリサーチアドミニストレーション研究会を発足させ、リサーチアドミニストレーション人材のネットワーク作りにも貢献した。
In recent years, the number of research grants has increased in Japan. This research aims at presenting models of research administration systems to reduce clerical burden on researchers and promoting exchanges views and information between research administrators. In this purpose, we carried out a questionnaire survey on employment situation and systems in Japan. We also investigated research administration in U.S. and compared to current Japanese situation. To build networks among research administrators in Japan, we established "Japan Research Administration Meeting (JRAM)".
