生薬カッセキは「本品は鉱物であり，主として含水ケイ酸アルミニウム及び二酸化ケイ素からなる．本品は鉱物学上の滑石とは異なる．」と日本薬局方に規定されており、その供給を100％外国に依存している。本研究では国内でカッセキとして用いることができる資源の調査を行った。結果、現在稼動している鉱山は無いが、潜在的な資源があることを確認した。また、実際に流通しているものや中国市場品も合わせて、カッセキの生薬学的同等性について検討した。中国で使用されるタルクに由来する滑石とは煎液のマグネシウムにより鑑別できることが判明した。
Crude herbal medicine Kasseki is defined in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia as " Aluminum Silicate Hydrate with Silicon Dioxide is a mineral substance, mainly composed of aluminum silicate hydrate and silicon dioxide. It is not the same substance with the mineralogical talc." and its all supplies depend on foreign countries. In this research, we investigated resources that can be used as Kasseki in Japan. As a result, although there are no currently operating mines of Kasseki, there are potential resources for Kasseki. Moreover, we examined the pharmacological equivalence of Kasseki among with those used in Japan and China. It was found that Kasseki used in Japan can be distinguished from ‘Kasseki’ derived from talc used in China by existence of magnesium in decoction.
