本研究では、ノンエリートの若年女性が、不安定化する現代の日本社会に大きく規定され、制約されながらも、自らの生活をいかにつくり出そうとしているかを、インタビュー調査にもとづいて明らかにした。その格闘の過程の中で、彼女たちが社会からいかなる「女性性」を求められ、それとの間でどのように葛藤しているかを描出するとともに、彼女たちの間でつくられ、維持されているゆるやかな関係をも浮かび上がらせた。
This study illustrated the way the non-elite young women struggled to create their own lives despite being heavily constrained by destabilized contemporary Japanese society, based on the interview research. The study described how they were expected to perform the ‘femininity’ by the society and were conflicted about that, in the process of that struggle. The study also highlighted the important fact that they created and maintained the modest network among them.
