本研究では、自閉症スペクトラム障害(ASD)児における、プロソディーの理解と表出面の発達を、実験的手法によって検証した。その結果、ASD児はプロソディーが伝達する意味内容に従って話し手の指示対象や顔をすばやく特定することが困難であることが示された。またASD児は、定型発達児と同様に、確信度にかかわるプロソディーをそれに応じた場面で使用するが、自己の確信度をメタ的に認知し、それを相手に伝達するため意図的にプロソディーを用いている可能性が低いことが示唆された。
We explored autistic children’s understanding and use of prosody by using experimental methodologies. We found that children with ASD are hard to fixate their gaze at referential target or at speaker’s face immediately after hearing speech prosody. We also found that they have difficulty in controlling prosody to communicate their degree of certainty to others.
