Note (General): 金沢大学理工学域数物科学系
重力波の発生と同期したX線突発天体を監視するための広視野X線撮像検出器を開発した。本年度はデジタル回路部のうち、CPUに関連した部分の開発をすすめ、検出器のプロトタイプモデルと呼べる規模の装置を完成させた。ここで使用したCPUは、8051コアをFPGAに焼きこむことで構成したものを利用している。人工衛星のバスCPUを模擬した外部PCとの間で、テレメトリ・コマンドの送受信が可能なことを確認し、FPGAが作成する時系列データから突発天体の発生をトリガーしたり、撮像データからX線源の位置を特定する機能も実装した。これにより、実際の観測で使用する機能の基盤を構成することに成功している。また、回路基板に実装しているDAC制御により高圧電源等の外部機器をコントロールしたり、温度・電圧・電流などのステータス情報も取得できることを確認した。本検出器に搭載されている回路部品は、全て若狭湾エネルギー研究センターで放射線耐性試験を行い、30 krad 以上の耐性を持つもののみで構成している。FPGAやSRAM等の高集積な基幹部品を宇宙仕様に交換するだけで、フライトモデルとすることができるようになっている。本新学術領域において、４年間にわたり２回の公募研究として推進してきた中で、検出器技術として衛星搭載レベルに達することができた。これにより、将来、超小型衛星や相乗り機器などの様々な手段によって、重力波源からのX線突発天体を監視できる基盤技術を確立することができたと言える。
