本研究の目標である３フレーバー理論の問題に取り組む前に、まず、４フレーバー理論の相構造解析を行った。この理由は、すでに４フレーバー理論のデータが揃っており、有限サイズスケーリング法を用いた解析法の吟味が可能だからである。結果、軽い質量領域では一次相転移の兆候が見え、一方、重い方ではクロスオーバーの振る舞いが見られた。これにより、符号問題が厳しくない状況において、我々の解析法の妥当性を示す事ができた。現在、これらの結果を論文にまとめているところであり、近日発表予定である。また、これらの４フレーバーの結果は、秋の物理学会やセミナー（東工大岡研究室９月）、各種研究会（イタリア・フィレンツェ9月、東大物性研5月）、で発表した。特に、イタリアの研究会での旅費は本研究資金から捻出した。一方で、本題の３フレーバー理論の現状は、空間格子サイズ8x8x8,10x10x10のデータを生成し、解析の結果、臨界終点存在の兆候が見られた。具体的には、感受率の体積依存性の特徴から数１０％の誤差で臨界終点の範囲を定めることができた。今後はさらに精度を高めるために、大きな体積12x12x12のデータを生成したり、ビンダーキュムラント法を用いる予定であるが、これは今後の課題としたい。本研究期間中に臨界終点の存在の可能性を示せたことは、今後の研究に先鞭を付けたという意味で非常に意義深い。本年度のデータ生成には、筑波大学計算科学研究センターのHA-PACS計算機（全ノード数268）を用いた。これは、各ノード当たり４GPUを搭載しており、本研究の計算に重要な役割を果たしている。平成２４年度後期は学際共同利用に応募し、８ノード換算で２２０００時間の配分を無料で獲得した。
