豊富な固有種が急速に失われつつあるインドネシア産植物に着目した植物化学的調査を行った。伝統的に使用されている薬用植物や未解析植物の調査をスラウェシ島で行い、新種と思われるフトモモ科植物を含め約50種を採取した。各エキスについて有望ながん細胞増殖阻害活性を示した5種について、各種カラムクロマトグラフィーによる分画を行い、新規骨格を有する複数の化合物を含め約80種の天然物を単離精製・構造決定した。
About 50 kinds of Indonesian plants were collected in Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. Five of them were selected based on their antiproliferative activity against human cancer cell lines. Isolation and the structure elucidations revealed approximately 80 of natural products including several novel ones with unique skeletons.
