卵巣腫瘍の嚢胞内容液中のマイクロRNA濃度を世界に先駆けて測定した研究である。その結果、明細胞腺癌の前駆病変である内膜症性嚢胞の内容液において濃度が高かったマイクロRNAとしてmiR-21, miR-141, miR-16, miR-181a, let7aが同定された。この中でmiR-21とmiR-141は明細胞腺癌の嚢胞内容液中において内膜症性嚢胞内よりも高い濃度で分布していた。この結果から、miR-21、miR-141は明細胞腺癌の発生、進展の過程で嚢胞内に分泌されてくるマイクロRNA（明細胞マーカー）であると推定された。
We succeeded in evaluating microRNAs in the cystic fluid of ovarian neoplasm. miR-21 and miR-141 were more abundant in the cystic fluid of ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma in comparison with their precursor lesion, endometriotic cyst. This finding suggests that miR-21 and miR-141 may play a significant role in the tumorigenesis of ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma. Furthermore, they may be useful diagnostic markers.
