我々は卵巣粘液性腫瘍に関して、特に胃腸型と内頚部型の違いに着目して研究を遂行した。内頚部型粘液性腫瘍に関しては、内膜症関連腺癌（明細胞腺癌、類内膜腺癌）で高頻度に変異が存在することが知られているARID1A遺伝子の異常の有無を検討した。その結果、内頚部型境界悪性粘液性腫瘍の一部にARID1A異常が検出された。ARID1A異常は併存する内膜症性上皮において確認された。ARID1A異常は胃腸型粘液性腫瘍においては確認されなかった。以上の結果から、内頚部型粘液性腫瘍の発生にARID1A異常が関与していること、ARID1A異常は腫瘍発生の早期の段階で起きることが示唆された。
We investigated ovarian mucinous tumor focusing on the difference between gastrointestinal-type and endocervical-type mucinous tumors. With regard to endocervical-type mucinous tumors, we investigated ARID1A alterations which is known to play an oncogenic role in endometriosis-associated ovarian cancer. As a result, loss of ARID1A expression, which suggests presence of mutation, was observed in a subset of endocervical-type mucinous borderline tumor. The loss of ARID1A expression was also observed in adjacent endometriotic epithelium. This finding suggest that ARID1A is involved in tumorigenesis of endocervical-type mucinous tumors. Further, ARID1A alteration occur in an early phase of its tumorigenesis.
