本企画調査は,以下の3つのサブテーマについて,その現状調査および対策戦略の策定を目的としている。1.機能性発現中,あるいは後の微粒子の環境中での挙動,アセスメント2.現状の機能性微粒子の製造過程における環境に対する負荷の調査3.環境に低負荷となる代替材料,代替製造技術の可能性の模索具体的には,まず第1回打合会(平成12年6月20日,淡路島,参加人数26名)の席上,上記の3つのサブテーマの内容に関して再検討を行い,研究分担者を中心に,各グループのリーダーおよび各自の役務分担が決定された。さらに,企画調査の主たる目的である特定領域研究(B)へ申請することが決まり,若手5名からなるWGが結成された。その後,8月31日〜9月1日にかけて金沢大学にて,特定領域研究(Bの申請WG会合が開かれ,本企画調査の基本理念を生かしつつ,材料・プロセスに絞った内容を申請書の全体構想とし,第2回打合会(9月12日,浜松,参加人数27名)で基本的に了承された。その後,計画研究の募集を行い,10月末に「環境との調和を指向したGrenn Particle Technologyの構築-水系・常圧気相系プロセスへの回帰-」と題して特定領域研究(B)の申請を行った。本課題の特徴は,「廃棄されて顕著に環境に悪影響を及ぼすポテンシャルを有する微粒子について,(1)環境負荷の小さい原材料・プロセスにより,(2)必要最低限の機能性(環境調和性を考慮した機能性)を付加することが,最終的に環境に対して優しいものづくり」と定義される"Green Particle Technology"を目指している点にある。さらに,本企画調査の総括として,平成13年1月29日に東京工業大学において,報告会(参加人数31名)を開催し,計11件の講演がなされた。さらに,3月末に報告会の資料をもとに,最終報告者を印刷し,関係各位に配布を行った。
