本年度は、摩擦力によるゴム試料表面の変形と摩耗面の損傷過程の経時変化を実験速度および雰囲気温度を変えて測定し、パターン摩耗が生じているゴム摩耗面に生ずる表面ひずみと摩擦面温度、摩擦速度の関係を明らかにすることを目的とした。摩擦速度を変えた時の摩擦・摩耗特性を測定した。その結果、摩擦係数、摩耗量とも速度の増加とともに増えていくが、摩擦速度10mm/s〜20mm/s付近を境としてほぼ一定値を示す傾向を得た。このときのき裂進展痕は、摩擦速度の増加とともに広くなっていくが、摩擦係数や摩耗が示した傾向と同じように摩擦速度10mm/s〜20mm/s付近を境として一定値となった。雰囲気温度を変化させて摩擦実験を行うために、科学研究費補助金により購入した電気式熱風発生機(TSK-10)を用い、実験装置をアクリル板で囲った環境実験装置を作成した。このとき、室温近辺の実験では摩擦力によってゴム試料表面に生ずる平均的なひずみは100%程度であった。実験荷重を変化させた実験では、平均的なひずみは40〜100%、突起根元でのひずみは約750%と本実験の範囲内ではそれぞれ大きな差が見られなかった。摩擦・摩耗とゴム表面ひずみの関係において、摩擦係数が最大値を示すときは、突起根元のひずみが最大となっている時であることがわかった。また、ゴム試料表面の摩擦面での平均的なひずみと摩擦力の間にはあまり関係が認められなかった。
