Note (General): 本研究は、磁気冷凍法によるエネルギー効率の極めて高い水素の液化や保持技術の実証・確立を目的としている。主な成果は以下の通り。 1.水素液化磁気冷凍試験システムを構築し試験を進めた。ソレノイド型マグネットと磁性体の往復動による磁場変化を用い、外部との熱交換は圧縮機駆動のヘリウムガスを利用した。世界で初めて蓄冷型磁気冷凍サイクルで水素の液化が実証された。2.実用磁性体の希土類金属間化合物の磁気熱量効果、磁場中熱伝導率を特性評価した。3.冷凍サイクルの熱解析ではシミュレーションコードを改良し、磁性体の周りに滞留する熱交換ガス、磁性体の熱伝導による損失などを取り込んだ解析を進めた。
Magnetic refrigerator for hydrogen liquefaction was developed with active magnetic regenerator cycle that is expected to improve thermal efficiency compare with gas expansion. Reciprocating AMR bed could produce large temperature span around hydrogen liquefaction temperature and liquefaction was confirmed using liquid hydrogen level meter for the first time. In order to develop magnetic material for practical use, we studied rare-earth intermettalic compounds. Magnetocarolic effect, thermal conductivity and other properties were measured and evaluated as magnetic refrigerants. Magnetic refrigeration cycles were analyzed with new developed simulation code which takes void gas, thermal conductivity loss and so on.
