高齢者は健康であっても筋肉等の衰えで関節の動作に問題を抱えていることが多く. また, 若年層でも怪我などで長期間患部を固定すれば筋肉が拘縮し, その影響で関節の可動域が制限される. 症状の改善のためにいろいろなリハビリテーションを行うのであるが, その効果を判断するために何らかの測定方法で数値化して改善の指標とすることが望まれている. しかし, 多くの関節の運動は一軸周りではなくて多軸の運動であるために各軸運動変位を単独で計測することは難しい. 本研究ではその点を考慮し, 肩関節まわりの3軸周りの回転角度を測定するために容易に装着できる測定器具を開発し, 肩関節の可動域におけるリハビリ効果の評価を行う.
