新濃と藤解は、代数型面のピカ-ル定数による特徴付けを目指して次の結果を示した。「H,Lを非定数整函数(H(0)=L(0)=0)、a_μ(μ=0,…,m-1),b_ν(ν=0,…,n-1)を有理型小函数、fを零点、極の少ない函数とする。もし恒等式Σ^^m__<μ=0>a_μ(z)e^<μH(z)>=f(z)Σ^^n__<ν=0>b_ν(z)e^<νL(z)>(a_m=b_n=1,a_0b_0〓0)が成立するとき、f(z)=a_0(z)e^<-nL(z)>またはf(z)=e^<mH(z)-nL(z)>の何れかしか起こり得ない。」この証明に用いられる議論には、それ自身が応用を期待できる数々の補題を含んでおり、多くの新しい知見が得られている。此の定理を応用して、3葉,4葉の代数型面の最大ピカ-ル定数に関する小澤-澤田の特徴付けに課されていた位数有限条件が完全に除外できることが示された。更に一般にn葉代数型面についてもこの定理は適用可能であることも分かっている。佐藤は、正則断面曲率が一定の概エルミート多様体について、特に低次元の場合について調べ、4次元の概ケーラー多様体の場合にはこれまでの結果を改良することに成功した。更に6次元の場合についても研究している。谷川は、多次元の空間における或る種の空間的均一性をもつマルコフ連鎖について、(エルゴード性を保障する標準的条件である)負-ドリフト条件の他に増分のモーメントの有限性を仮定すれば、定常分布への収束の速さについての良い評価が得られることを示した。奥村は、幾何的な解釈をもつTeichuller空間の大域的実解析的座標の考察及びRiemann面上のsimple dividing loopの特徴付けを一次変換の幾何から導いた。
