運動時の体温上昇に応じる血管拡張反応は、運動強度により指と前腕でその影響が異なる可能性がある。本研究は、運動時、体温上昇に伴う皮膚血管拡張反応が運動強度によって如何に修飾されるか指と前腕の部位特性について検討した。健康成人男子6名を被験者とし、室温28℃相対湿度40%の環境下で最大酸素摂取量の30、45、60%の運動強度で自転車エルゴメーター運動を30分間行った。この間、静脈閉塞法により左中指(FBF)と右前腕(ABF)の血流量をレーザードップラー血流計により左人差し指背面(Qfig)と左前腕(Qarm)の皮膚血流量をそれぞれ測定した。同時に鼓膜温(Tty)を測定した。運動中の鼓膜温と各血流量の回帰直線を最小自乗法により算出した。30分間の運動でFBF、ABF、Qfig、Qarm及びTtyはそれぞれ増加した。Ttyの上昇に対するQarmの増加の割合は運動強度に比例して大きくなったが、Ttyの上昇に対するFBFの増加の割合は逆に小さくなった。TtyとQfig及びTtyとABFの関係は運動強度により影響されなかった。以上より、運動時の体温上昇に伴う血管拡張反応は運動強度により修飾されることが判明した。QarmとFBFで運動強度の影響が異なるのは指と前腕の血管構造・神経調節機構の部位特性によると考えられる。指では動静脈吻合が存在しその調節は交感神経の収縮性線維により行われるのに対し、前腕皮膚には動静脈吻合が存在せずその血管は主に交感神経の拡張性線維により調節されているために部位差が生じると推察した。
