1.目的:日本海側海岸平野において得られた過去約2万年間のボーリング・コア試料について古環境、特に古植生変化に基づく古気候変化、古水質(古水域環境)変化、古地磁気強度変化等を解明することを目的とする。2.実施状況:(1)古植生変化は花粉分析的手法により解析し、古気候変化を解析。(2)古水質(古水域環境)変化は、珪藻分析・微動物分析により解析。(3)古地磁気変化、特に強度変化が時代と共にどのように変化するかを解析。(4)実年代は、炭素C-14年代測定法により測定。3.研究成果:(1)金沢平野の過去約2万年間及び秋田県男鹿半島五里合盆地における過去5千年間の古気候変化を解明できた。(2)金沢平野における過去約2万年間の古地磁気変化、特に伏角・強度の変化の実態を解明できた。(3)金沢平野の過去約2万年間及び秋田県男鹿半島五里合盆地における過去5千年間の古水質(古水域環境)変化を珪藻分析・微動物分析により解明できた。(4)金沢平野における過去約2万年間に気候変化と古地磁気強度変化とに正の相関関係があると判断できるような成果が得られた。
