本研究の目的は,数学と実生活を結ぶ学校・地域・社会の連携モデルを開発し評価することである。これは,2つの分野(ア),(イ)において連携システムを構築することである。(ア)は,学校での数学の教科外活動システムの開発である。モデル国として,オランダのMath-Alympiad並びにMath B-Dayのコンテストで,日常事象の考察に数学を生かす問題を取り上げている。こうした学校での教科外活動は,わが国ではほとんど実施されておらす,その組織,運営形態,実施方法等を実地調査し,それを踏まえて金沢大学附属高等学校で実施し,その成果を評価した。このことに関して,親族の急逝のため,オランダの実地調査を実施することができず,実地調査費用を返還した。(イ)は,地域・社会との連携システムの構築であり,2つの下位課題(i),(ii)を遂行した。(i)は,金沢大学教育学部の地域貢献事業の一つとして,金沢大学のサテライト施設を会場として主催する校外学習の機会である「算数・数学チャレンジクラブ」のカリキュラム開発である。その際に,カリキュラムを日常事象の考察に算数・数学を生かす内容で編成した。(ii)は,諸外国の「数学博物館」や,わが国の「ハンズオン・マス研究会」等の調査研究をすることにより,上記クラブ等に参加する児童・生徒・保護者・一般市民が,触れて観賞することができるハンズ・オン的な展示ブースについての調査を行った。上記に述べた理由により,当初予定していた展示ブースの設置は実現できなかった。
