HLA gene diversity is associated with more than 100 diseases including autoimmune diseases. In this study, we used data from health examinations and 37 HLA gene polymorphisms of the Noto area genome cohort residents conducted at Kanazawa University to verify the usefulness of highly accurate HLA typing for disease prediction and other personalized medicine.
HLA遺伝子の個人差は自己免疫性疾患など多彩な100以上の疾患の発症と関連することが知られており、個人のゲノム情報を医療に活用する個別化医療の先駆けとして社会実装が期待されている。本研究では金沢大学で進めている、志賀町など能登地域を対象にしたゲノムコホートの住民DNAサンプルを対象に37のHLA遺伝子ならびに非HLA遺伝子と健康診断の情報を用いて、疾患発症予測など個別化医療における高精度HLAタイピングの有益性を検証する基盤情報を整備した。
