極低温及び超電導の機器開発において、その極限環境や精密計測への応用を拡大するために、省エネルギー化と資源のリサイクル化を向上する研究を行なった。1テスラを超える回転強磁場を発生する電磁石を高温超電導材料を用いて製作することによって、省エネルギー化を実現し、この電磁石が磁気分離やXMCD計測に有用であることを示した。また10フェムトテスラの微小磁場を測定する脳磁計のための低雑音のヘリウム冷凍機を製作することにより、ヘリウム資源のリサイクル化を実現したものである。
