本論文では，小型・高精度化および複雑化が進む光学部品用金型の加工要求に対し，リニアモータを移動テーブルの駆動源に用いた超精密5軸加工機と補正加工に使用する高精度機上形状計測装置を開発し，運動性能の評価と新たに提案した加工法を用いた工作物の加工評価を実施した．工作物の形状精度および表面粗さの測定した結果，超精密加工に関して挙げられた課題を段階的に解決することで超精密加工機の高速高精度化を実現することができた．本研究によって得られた結果は，今後の光学産業分野に対して多大な貢献を期待することができる．
