本研究では、不連続炭素繊維熱可塑CFRP（CTT)プレス成形において、従来の経験的な製造条件検討の課題に対して、定量的な判断にもとづいた検討をするため、成形時の材料変化をみかけ粘度で測定する手法を考案し、今まで解明されていなかったプレス成形中の金型内材料流動を定量的な測定により明らかにした。また、面内機械特性分布が伴うCTT成形品を、原理の異なる2種類のX線透過観察画像解析で取得した繊維配向と繊維構造データから材料物性を計算し、CTT成形品の面内機械特性分布を高い精度で再現したシミュレーション構造モデルの構築手法を確立した。
