ランゲージングとは、外国語（第二言語）学習者が疑問や問題に感じたことを話す、または書く活動で、これまで学習効果を高めることが明らかになっている。本研究では筆記版（筆記ランゲージング）に焦点を当て、その効果と学習者の言語適性の関係を検証した。その結果、筆記ランゲージングが適性の低い学習者の学びを助けることが示された。また、筆記ランゲージングの質と学びの関係も調べたところ、質の高いランゲージングをするほど、より大きな学びにつながることが明らかになった。“Languaging” is an activity where language learners talk or write their linguistic issues. Languaging in both oral and written modalities has been identified to facilitate language learning. This study examined the facilitative effect of written languaging and the role of learners’ aptitude in written languaging. It was found that learners who engaged in written languaging improved learning regardless of their aptitude abilities. This finding suggests that written languaging may function as an external equalizer of individual differences in aptitude. The quality of written languaging was also associated with learning: higher quality of languaging resulted in more significant learning.
