Note (General): There is an ongoing discussion on the application of burnup credit to the criticality safety controls of facilities that treat spent fuels. With regard to such application of burnup credit in Japan, this document summarizes the current technical status of the prediction of the isotopic composition and criticality of spent fuels, as well as safety evaluation concerns and the current status of legal affairs. This report is an English translation of A Guide to Introducing Burnup Credit, Preliminary Version, originally published in Japanese as JAERI-Tech 2001-055 by the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facility Safety Research Committee.
使用済燃料を取扱う施設の臨界安全管理に対して、燃焼度クレジットを導入することが検討されている。本資料は、今後国内の使用済燃料を取扱う施設において燃焼度クレジットを採用することを目的として、使用済燃料の同位体組成と臨界性の予測に関する技術的現状、安全評価上考慮すべき点、そして規制に関する現状をまとめたものである。この報告書は、燃料サイクル安全研究委員会がJAERI-Tech 2001-055として日本語で刊行した「燃焼度クレジット導入ガイド原案」の英訳である。
