• Note (General): To realize fast and accurate Monte Carlo simulation of neutron and photon transport problems, two vectorized Monte Carlo codes MVP and GMVP have been developed at JAERI. MVP is based on the continuous energy model and GMVP is on the multigroup model. Compared with conventional scalar codes, these codes achieve higher computation speed by a factor of 10 or more on vector supercomputers. Both codes have sufficient functions for production use by adopting accurate physics model, geometry description capability and variance reduction techniques. The first version of the codes was released in 1994. They have been extensively improved and new functions have been implemented. The major improvements and new functions are (1) capability to treat the scattering model expressed with File 6 of the ENDF-6 format, (2) time-dependent tallies, (3) reaction rate calculation with the pointwise response function, (4) flexible source specification, etc. This report describes the physical model, geometry description method used in the codes, new functions and how to use them.; 高速かつ高精度な中性子・光子輸送モンテカルロ計算を実現するため、2つのベクトルモンテカルロコードMVPとGMVPが日本原子力研究所において開発されている。MVPは連続エネルギー法、GMVPは多群法に基づいている。これらのコードはベクトル計算機上において、既存のスカラーコードに比べて10倍以上の高速化を実現している。両コードは正確な物理モデル,詳細な幾何形状表現法,分散低減法等、実用コードとして十分な機能を有している。これらコードの第1版は1994年に公開され、これまで広範囲にわたって改良及び新機能の追加がなされてきた。主な改良点と新機能は(1)ENDF-6形式のファイル6を用いて表現された散乱モデルへの対応,(2)時間依存タリー,(3)ポイントワイズ応答関数を用いた反応率計算,(4)柔軟な線源の指定,(5)任意温度における連続エネルギー計算,(6)固有値問題における分散のバイアス評価,(7)点検出器及び面検出器評価法,(8)確率論的幾何形状モデル,(9)炉雑音解析機能等である。本報告書では2つのコードで用いられている物理モデル,幾何形状表現法,新たな機能及びそれらの使用法が記載されている。
