• Note (General): Activities of International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility (IFMIF) have been performed under an IEA collaboration since 1995. IFMIF is an accelerator- based deuteron (D+)-lithium (Li) neutron source designed to produce an intense neutron field (2 MW/m$^{2}$, 20 dpa/year for Fe) in a volume of 500 cm$^{3}$ for testing candidate fusion materials. In 2000, a 3year Key Element technology Phase (KEP) of IFMIF was started to reduce the key technology risk factors. This interim report summarizes the KEP activities until mid 2001 in the major project work-breakdown areas of accelerator, target, test cell and design integration.; 国際核融合材料照射施設(IFMIF)活動は1995年からIEA協力で国際的に実施されている。IFMIFは加速器を用いた重陽子-リチウム(Li)中性子源であり、核融合の候補材料の試験のため、強力な中性子場(2MW/m$^{2}$、鉄に対して20dpa/年)を発生する。IFMIFの重要要素の技術リスク低減のため、3年間の要素技術確証フェーズ(KEP)が2000年に開始された。KEPでは、電流250mAでエネルギー40MeVの高出力重陽子(D+)加速器,体積9m$^{3}$の液体Liを循環するLiループ,温度制御された照射試験施設,照射後試験(PIE)施設及びその他の施設を運転するのに必要なIFMIF建屋及びユーティリティのシステム設計も実施されている。本中間報告書では加速器,ターゲット,テストセル,設計統合について記載した。KEP活動は2002年12月まで継続され、その成果がIFMIF-KEPの最終報告書としてまとめられる予定である。
