Note (General): 本論文では, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter（MRO）搭載のMars Climate Sounder（MCS）による観測データの利用を広めるために行った環境整備について紹介する. 元データのデータ量が膨大であり, データ構造もそのままでは解析等において取り扱いにくいため, まずデータフォーマットをNetwork Common Data Form（netCDF）に変換することで, データの可搬性と可読性を高めた. 次に, 地球の大気・海洋科学分野で広く使われているGridAnalysis and Display System（GrADS）で扱えるようにデータの格子化を行い, 解析と可視化が容易にできるようにした. このようにデータの取り扱いにおける敷居の高さを下げることで, 他分野の研究者の参入や学生教育におけるデータ利用への貢献が期待できる.
This paper presents a method to process data obtained by Mars Climate Sounder (MCS) onboard Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO). The method includes two steps; the first step is the format conversion of original text data into netCDF (Network Common Data Form), and the second step is gridding of the data to be available for use by Grid Analysis and Display System (GrADS). The method proposed here will contribute to multidisciplinary use and/or educational use of such data for the Martian atmospheric science.
