Note (General): 2014年12月に打ち上げられた小惑星探査機「はやぶさ2」は, 2018年の夏に小惑星リュウグウ(162173, 1999 JU3)の探査を開始した. 「はやぶさ2」の小惑星リュウグウへの接近運用に際しては, それらの運用が適切に実施できるように, 実際の観測や係る運用に先立って, 小惑星の局所的な形状模擬や撮像模擬等が必要とされた. 本稿においては, このような要素を実現するための, 小惑星形状モデルの生成手法や可視化時の再分割手法について述べる. 本手法はリュウグウに止まらず, 類似の天体への応用も期待されるものである.
The Hayabusa 2 asteroid explorer was launched in December 2014 and began to explore Ryugu (162173, 1999 JU3) in the summer of 2018. During the proximity operations around Ryugu, in order that each operation may be executed properly, it is required to simulate the local shapes of the asteroid and images of on-board cameras in advance. In this paper, we describe several methods of generating shape models of asteroids and a subdivision method during rendering. These methods are expected to be utilized in the case of other celestial objects.
