Note (General): 2003年8月30日、成層圏中のO3、ClOを観測することを目的に、気球搭載型超伝導サブミリ波リム放射サウンダ(BSMILES)の放球実験が行われた。BSMILESには直径300mmのアンテナ、650GHz超伝導受信機(SISミクサ)、音響光学型分光計(AOS)が搭載されている。観測中システムは正常に動作し、O3、ClOの放射電波スペクトルを得ることが出来た。観測終了後、機器は海上回収された。
A balloon-borne superconducting submillimeter-wave limb-emission sounder (BSMILES) was launched to observe stratospheric O3, ClO on August 30, 2003. An antenna with a diameter of 300 mm, a 650 GHz-band SIS mixer, and an acousto-optical spectrometer are carried in BSMILES. The system operated normally and emission line spectra of O3 and ClO were obtained. Marine recovery of the system was carried out after the observations.
