Note (General): 将来の極超音速機やスペースプレーンの実現に向けて、その主要技術の飛行実証を目的とした気球利用型実験機(Balloon-based Operation Vehicle, BOV3号機)の飛行実験を行った。今回の飛行実験の主目的は、極超音速ターボジェットのマッハ2飛行性能取得である。飛行実験では、エンジンに供給する燃料として水素ガスを、空気冷却用の冷媒として液体窒素を使用した。このため、実験機は可燃性ガスおよび極低温冷媒の取り扱いに対応したシステムとして構成し、運用方法を策定した。本報告書では、BOV3号機の機体システム構成を概略し、飛行実験時における放球前オペレーション方法についてまとめる。
Flight test of Balloon Based Operation Vehicle (BOV) was conducted to demonstrate key technologies for future hypersonic transport and space planes. Main objective of the flight test was to demonstrate hypersonic turbojet engine under Mach 2 flight condition. The vehicle runs on gaseous hydrogen and liquid nitrogen. This paper describes system vehicle system including such flammable gas and high pressure gas and operating system of them.
