Note (General): 航空機の推力と揚力を利用して、航跡が放物線を描くような操縦(パラボリックフライト)をすると、機内に無重力に近い状態を作り出すことができる。NASDAでは1990年度以降MU-300型航空機(三菱重工業社製小型ビジネスジェット機)を使用し、微小重力実験を実施している。1年間に約430回の微小重力実験が可能である。簡単な計算式によって標準的な微小重力とその持続時間を計算した。MU-300によって得られる微小重力は0.01〜0.03G程度、持続時間は15〜21秒程度である。
A weightless environment can be realized inside an aircraft when it flies on a parabolic curve using its thrust and lift force appropriately. Since fiscal year of 1990, NASDA has performed experiments under microgravity using aircraft MU-300 of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. About 430 experiments can be carried out per year. Here the standard value of microgravity and its duration were calculated by a simple arithmetical formula. The g values of microgravity obtained on the MU-300 is about 0.01-0.03, and its duration is 15 to 21 s.
