• Note (General): 微小重力下では、比重の差による通常の対流が消滅し、表面張力差に起因する対流(マランゴニ対流)が生じてくる。材料形成の場で、この流れは均一な結晶成長を妨げ、濃度分布を不均一にする。マランゴニ対流のその場観察を開発する方法の重要性が認識されてきており、これがこの研究の主な目的である。観測ロケットTR-1A(宇宙実験用小型ロケット)を用いて、液柱の内部を2次元的に観察する方法を開発した。しかしカオス流においては多方向からの3次元観察が必要となる。さら液柱のなかのトレーサ粒子が自由表面近傍にはほとんど行かないことから、表面流の観察技術の開発が必要である。表面張力は自由表面の温度によって決まるので、表面温度測定のため、非接触式の温度測定も要求される。本研究では、次のその場観察法を行った。(1)2台の独立CCD(電荷結合素子)カメラによる3次元観察、(2)高速度カメラによる観察、(3)赤外線カメラによる液柱温度の測定、および(4)紫外線またはパルスレーザによるフォトクロミズムの観察。下記の結果を得た。(1)接触した二つの液体は、ゆっくりしたエネルギー交換を行う、(2)接触した二つのシリコンオイル球の単なる接触は、リキッドブリッジを形成しない。このために、針のしこみが必要である。(3)リキッドブリッジ(が形成されるならば)内部温度は急速に温度が均一化する。(4)水、エタノールの接触の場合、マランゴニ対流による急速な両液体の温度均一化が生ずる。観察した全液柱の振動の研究は、現在進行中である。(5)紫外線吸収で生ずるフォトクロミズムによる表面流れの視覚化には、さらなる研究が必要である。(6)パルスレーザによるフォトクロミズムによる流れの視覚化は、すでに活用するのに十分である。; In microgravity, the familiar convection due to specific gravity difference disappears and the convection due to surface tension distribution (Marangoni convection) takes place. In the field of material processing, this flow disturbs the uniform crystal growth and ends in a random distribution of concentration. The importance of developing methods of in-situ observation of Marangoni flow has been recognized, and this is the main objective of this study. In the sounding rocket TR-1A (Test Rocket-1A), the method of two-dimensional observation inside a liquid bridge has been developed. But in chaos flow, three-dimensional observation from multiple directions becomes necessary. Moreover, tracers in a liquid column barely goes in the proximity of the free surface, and this leads to the necessity of developing a method of measuring surface flow. As the surface tension is determined by the temperature of free surface, the way of nontouch measurement of surface temperature is also in demand. In this study, the following in-situ observation techniques were carried out: (1) three dimensional observation using two independent CCD (Charge Coupled Device) cameras; (2) observation using high speed rate camera; (3) measurement of temperature of the liquid column using infrared camera; and (4) observation of photochromism driven by ultra-violet ray or pulse laser. The following results were obtained: (1) the two contacting liquids exchange the heat very slowly; (2) the bare contact of the two silicone-oil balls didn't cause the formation of a liquid bridge. The placing of a needle was needed; (3) the temperature inside the liquid bridge (if formed) is normalized quickly; (4) in case of water and ethyl alcohol contact, the quick averaging of the temperature due to Marangoni convection takes place. The study of the observed vibration of the whole liquid column is undergoing; (5) the visualization of the surface flow by photochromism due to the ultraviolet-ray absorption, needs a further study; and (6) the visualization of the flow by photochromism driven by pulse laser is already in the good level for utilization.; 資料番号: AA0000789004; レポート番号: NASDA-TMR-960027
