Note (General): 可視化法(感温液晶法および油膜法)を用いて一様流中におかれた円柱模型表面の境界層および剥離流れの様子をレイノルズ数5×10(exp 5)から30×10(exp 5)の範囲でマッハ数0.5を中心に調べた。その結果、臨界レイノルズ数付近では円柱模型表面の境界層に層流剥離泡(バブル)が形成され、スパン方向に細胞室状のcell渦構造が確認された。この結果、円柱模型表面上の剥離線の2次元性は臨界レイノルズ数領域で悪くなり複雑さが増すことが明らかとなった。さらにレイノルズ数が増加するにつれ、層流剥離泡は消滅し、剥離線の隣合う渦間の距離は、cell渦構造を含めて模型直径の約1.3〜0.3倍程度になる。円柱模型上の境界層が3次元剥離を起こしていることが流れの可視化法により観測され、後流に影響が及んでいることが判明した。また通風時間が比較的短く気流温度制御をしていない吹き出し式風洞(航空宇宙技術研究所・2次元遷音風洞)において、感温液晶法を用いた境界層流れの可視化を試み、その技術を確立した。
Flow visualization tests have been conducted in the NAL (National Aerospace Laboratory) two-dimensional transonic wind tunnel to investigate the boundary layer separation over circular-cylinder models at Reynolds number range of 5 x 10(exp 5) to 30 x 10(exp 5) and a Mach number of around 0.5. The laminar separation bubbles are observed on the surface around the critical Reynolds number and the cell-like structures are seen along the span. As Reynolds number increases, the laminar bubbles disappear and the flow field becomes more complicated. The ratio of the average cell length to the cylinder diameter is about 0.3 to 1.3 at Reynolds number of 20 x 10(exp 5). The liquid crystal technique to visualize boundary layer flows in the blow down wind tunnel has been established.
