• Note (General): 半浮遊領域モデルにおける高プラントル数(Pr)マランゴニ対流の振動流動と遷移挙動を地上実験によって研究してきた。液柱は直径5mmの2枚の同軸円盤の間に吊した。上の円盤を加熱しまた下の円盤は冷却して、対流の駆動力としての温度差を与えた。最近の研究に使用した流体は、動粘性が2、5、および10cStのシリコーン油であり、各々、Prが28、67、および111の値を有する。これらの研究では、特に、層流状態から振動状態への対流の遷移における動的表面変形の役割について注目した。市販のレーザ焦準変位計を用いて、液柱表面の特定点における動的表面変位の正確な時間分解測定を行った。動的表面変形と表面温度振動についての一連の同時測定により、表面と温度はほとんど同じ温度差で振動し始め、その温度差の値は液柱条件に依存することが示された。限界温度差に及ぼす体積比の影響も研究し、文献値と比較した。その結果、限界温度差は全てのプラントル数に対して0.85〜0.88の体積比で最大になることが示された。動的表面変形の挙動について更に詳しく調べるために、後方照明で照らされた液柱縁の顕微鏡像に基づいた新しい測定技術を開発した。この技術の有効性と精度はレーザ焦準変位計と直接比較することにより確認した。動的表面変形と表面温度振動の間にはかなり明確な位相関係が存在するが、それらの位相差は液柱条件に依存することが示された。液柱の軸位置に沿った動的表面変形の振幅と位相遅れの変動について詳細な測定を行った。その結果、以下のことが示された。(1)位相は冷たい円盤から熱い円盤へ行くに従い遅れているが、これはこの方向に進行波が存在していることを意味する。(2)ある液柱条件のもとでは振幅は熱い円盤の近傍で非常に大きくなる。そして(3)これらと同じ液柱条件では、位相は、熱い円盤表面近くで180度変化する。; Oscillatory flow and transition behavior of high Prandtl number (Pr) Marangoni convection in the half-floating zone model have been studied in ground-based experiments. The liquid column is suspended between two coaxial disks, both 5 mm in diameter. The upper disk is heated and the lower disk is cooled to impose a temperature difference as a driving force of the convection. The working fluids currently studied are silicone oils with the kinematic viscosity of 2, 5, and 10 cSt, each giving Pr = 28, 67, and 111, respectively. Attention is focused on the role of dynamic surface deformations in the transition of the convection from laminar state to oscillatory state. A commercially available laser-focusing displacement meter is used for accurate and time-resolved measurement of dynamic surface deformations at a selected point on the liquid column surface. A series of simultaneous measurements of dynamic surface deformations and surface temperature oscillations show that the surface and the temperature start to oscillate almost at the same temperature difference, the value of which is dependent on the liquid column conditions. The influence of the volume ratio on the critical temperature difference is also investigated and compared to the literature data. It is shown that the critical temperature difference becomes the highest at the volume ratio of 0.85 - 0.88 for all Prandtl numbers. To gain more insight into the behavior of dynamic surface deformations, a new measurement technique based on microscopic imaging of the liquid column edge illuminated by back lighting is developed. The validity and accuracy of the developed technique are confirmed through direct comparison with the laser-focusing displacement meter. It is shown that a well-defined phase relationship between dynamic surface deformations and the surface temperature oscillations exists but their phase difference depends on the liquid column conditions. Detailed measurements of the variation of amplitude and phase lag of dynamic surface deformations along axial position of the liquid column are carried out. It is revealed that: (1) the phase is delayed as going from the cold disk toward the hot disk, implying the existence of traveling waves in this direction; (2) the amplitude becomes outstanding in the vicinity of the hot disk under certain liquid column conditions; and (3) for the same liquid column conditions the phase changes by 180 deg near the hot disk surface.; 資料番号: AA0002209003; レポート番号: NASDA-TMR-990007E
