• Note (General): 宇宙環境すなわち微小重力環境を利用して、新たに開発された無担体電気泳動装置により、いくつかのタンパク質の分離を試み、その分離能力の違いを地上と比較するための実験を行なった。軌道実験は電気泳動装置の吸光度検出器の異常により一部の実験は中止されたがその他は予定のスケジュールで行われ無事終了した。実験に使用したサンプルはタンパク質の混合溶液(2種類と3種類の混合溶液)を使用した。吸光度データが地上に送信されなかったため、宇宙での予備実験を省略して、本実験を2回行ない、泳動された試料の分画を分取し、冷蔵庫に保管して回収した。帰還後、分取試料は我々の実験室に搬送され、各種解析を行ない、地上と微小重力下との分離能の比較を行なった。この結果、決定的に分離能が良くなったかどうかの判断は難しいが地上実験の結果とは明らかに様子が違うことが推定できた。これは地上では熱対流や拡散による乱れ等が消滅とまでは言えないが影響が少なくなっていることが想像できるものである。本実験から微小重力における電気泳動の分離能力が地上に比して決定的に優れているとは言い切れない。さらに宇宙実験を重ねるとともに、装置の改良などを行ない、泳動槽内の緩衝液ならびに試料の流動や熱の分布状態、あるいは電気浸透などに関する解析が必要である。; By newly-developed carrier-free electrophoresis equipment using outer space or microgravity environment, several proteins were experimentally isolated to compare the equipment's isolation power between in the outer space and on the ground. All experiments progressed satisfactory as scheduled except for some of trajectory experiments discontinued because of the equipment's absorbance detector defect. Mixed protein solutions (composed of two or three proteins) were used as a sample for the experiments. Because the absorbance data were not transmitted to the ground, the preliminary experiment was omitted and the formal experiment was conducted twice. The fractions of electrophoretic samples were collected, stored in a refrigerator, and recovered. After returning to the Earth, the collected samples were delivered to the laboratory and analyzed to compare the isolation power between under normal and microgravity. The result did not show remarkable improved isolation power under microgravity. However, it also showed the obvious difference in the ability. This may be because the effects of confusion by thermal convection or diffusion is reduced, but not eliminated on the ground. This experiment does not indicate remarkably greater isolation power under microgravity than normal gravity. Analyzing the flow of a buffer solution and samples, heat distribution, and electroosmosis in the electrophoresis tank is necessary through further space experiments and equipment improvement.; 資料番号: AA0004115004; レポート番号: NASDA-TMR-940002 V.1
