Note (General): 2台のビデオカメラを使い3角測量の原理で距離情報を得る為に必要な、左右のカメラが同じモノ/点を見ているかどうかを判定するアルゴリズムとして、ヒトの視覚から学んだ視線制御による対応点探索アルゴリズムを提案し、実験によりその機能を確認した。ヒトと同程度の解像度を得て、左右中心窩像の差が解像度以下であることを利用した。対応を取る特徴としては明度をそのまま使用し、特徴の表現形式としては中心窩領域の明度分布の領域対応を行なった。左右カメラが同じモノ/点を見ている時、左右画像の明度差の絶対値の平均値は極小値を取り、その極小値はビデオカメラのセンサーとしての信頼性によって決まる。提案したアルゴリズムは、左右カメラの個体差に強く、その機能範囲はヒトの立体視能力の範囲にほぼ等しい。従来のテンプレート・マッチングに較べて、画素数が多く(256×256画素)、レンズの中心/周辺光量比の影響を受けない。
An approach to stereo correspondence problems imitating human vision is proposed and verified by directing two cameras to the same point in experiments. The algorithm is based on the fact that the illuminance difference between images on left and right human retinal foveae is minimized when both eyes look at the same point because the difference between the images is smaller than the resolution. The algorithm is robust against camera discrepancies and has an operating range similar to that of human vision. The algorithm is an area-based method using 256 x 256 picture elements much more than ordinary template matchings and is not affected by the relative illuminance of the lens because of convergence control of the cameras.
