• Note (General): 本論文はイオンエンジン移動取付台の設計、製作、機能、評価試験および試験結果について述べる。この移動取付台の目的は、キセノンイオンエンジンの作動を高真空下で行い、かつ真空槽からの出し入れを容易に行えるようにすることである。容易にエンジンを出し入れするため真空装置に門型弁を介してエンジン格納槽を取り付けた。門型弁を開けた後、移動取付台によりエンジンを格納槽から真空槽内へと移動させる。真空槽内は格納槽よりも高真空になっており、ここでエンジンの作動を行う。従来のエンジン設置方法には問題があった。真空槽内に直接エンジンを置く方法ではエンジンの出し入れごとに真空槽への大気導入と真空排気が必要であり、これは大型真空槽では不適当である。エンジン格納槽と門型弁を取り付けるとエンジンの出し入れは容易になるが、それらの内径が小さいため気体流れのコンダクタンスも小さく、エンジン周りを高真空に排気することが困難になる。エンジン移動取付台はエンジン格納槽と門型弁と共に用いて、エンジン出し入れの容易さとエンジン周りの高真空の両方を実現することができる。この改良した方法の有効性を示すため、エンジンの位置を変化させて、真空槽本体内の圧力とエンジン格納槽内の圧力を測定した。また、キセノンの追加導入により真空槽内の圧力を変化させ、この時のエンジン性能の変化を測定した。これらの試験の結果は、本移動取付台の使用によりエンジン周りの圧力は1/2〜1/3に低下すること、およびエンジン耐久試験での評価精度を向上させることを明らかにした。また、本真空装置では、25mNエンジンの2台同時作動、またはより大型の150mN級エンジンの作動が可能であることがわかった。; This paper describes the design and fabrication of an extensible ion thruster stand, the tests to demonstrate its functions, and the test results. The purpose of this thruster stand is to improve the vacuum environment for xenon ion thruster operation while allowing easy access for replacing the thruster in a vacuum. To achieve this, the vacuum facility was furnished with a thruster lock chamber, and a gate valve between the vacuum chamber and the lock chamber. After opening the gate valve, the thruster stand moves the thruster from the lock chamber into the vacuum chamber, where the vacuum is higher than in the lock chamber, and tests can then be conducted on the thruster. The extensible thruster stand, together with the lock chamber and the gate valve, can provide both easy thruster access and a high vacuum around the thruster. To demonstrate the advantages of this improved method, the pressures in the main chamber and in the thruster lock chamber were measured, as the thruster position was changed. Also, the thruster performance was measured, as the chamber pressure was changed by feeding extra xenon. Results of these tests revealed that the pressure around the thruster was lowered to one half to one third by using this thruster stand and that evaluation accuracy was improved during thruster endurance tests. Further this vacuum facility was found to be capable of operating two 25 mN thrusters simultaneously or of operating a larger thruster of 150 mN class.; 資料番号: AA0004213000; レポート番号: NAL TR-1198
