Pressure Sensitive Paint (PSP) depends highly on temperature and so measurement errors are easily caused by temperature changes on the model surface, because its measurement principle is based on chemical reactions. Therefore, its application to a blowdown wind tunnel has been considered to be difficult since the temperature on the model surface changes every moment. By using the PSP together with Temperature Sensitive Paint (TSP), which measures temperature with the principle and apparatus similar to the PSP, the pressure and temperature distributions on the model surface can be measured simultaneously. Thus, a preliminary test to examine the effectiveness of a PSP/TSP combined calibration method in the blowdown tunnel was conducted, in which the correction method of the temperature dependence of PSP could be developed. A supersonic wind tunnel test at M = 2 was conducted by using an SST model on which PSP and TSP coated Mylar films were pasted. As a result, the surface temperature of the model was measured to decrease by about 5 K during a period of 40 s of the wind blowing in the tunnel. The temperature-compensated pressure data by PSP were nearly equal among the results of six measurements. It was shown that the results by PSP were in relatively good agreement with the past results by the pressure hole method.
