航空宇宙技術研究所と宇宙開発事業団は共同で、HOPE-X(宇宙往還技術試験機)およびスクラムジェットエンジンの研究開発のための大型高温衝撃風洞HIESTを建設した。このHIESTが1997年に運転を開始して以来、各種の校正試験および空気熱力学試験を行ってきた。本論文では、初期校正試験で評価した設備の基礎的性能、ノズルスロート溶融が気流に及ぼす影響、HOPE-Xに関する力計測の初期結果、および衝撃波/衝撃波相互作用が熱流速変動に及ぼす影響について報告する。
NAL and NASDA built a large High-Enthalpy Shock Tunnel HIEST for the HOPE-X (H-2 Orbiting Plane-Experimental) and scramjet developments and have carried out various calibration tests and aerothermodynamic tests since the HIEST became operational in 1997. In the present paper, the basic performance of the facility evaluated in the initial calibration tests, influence of nozzle throat melting on flow quality, initial results of force measurement about HOPE-X and influence of the shock/shock interaction on heat flux fluctuation are reported.
