片揺れ円筒表面上の直交流境界層内で成長する不安定性波の挙動の検討を目的に、非圧縮性ナビエ・ストークス方程式を計算して数値研究を行った。本研究では、2種の不安定性波の構造を把握することを目標とした。不安定性波のひとつは、流線曲率不安定性波であり、他は直交流不安定性波である。円筒の後退角次第で別の不安定性波が支配的となることが分かった。さらに、速度変動ベクトルと渦度変動ベクトルの詳細解析から2モードの流れ構造を求めた。
Numerical study aimed at investigating the behavior of instability waves which grow in a crossflow boundary layer on the surface of a yawed circular cylinder is conducted by computing incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The goal of this research is to understand the structure of two instability waves. One of them is the streamline-curvature instability wave, and the other one is the cross-flow instability wave. It is shown that different instability wave will be dominant depending on the sweep-angle of the cylinder. In addition, the flow structures of the two modes have been obtained from detailed analysis of the velocity fluctuation vectors and the vorticity fluctuation vectors.
