Note (General): 地上における液体拡散の測定は、浮力対流の影響で非常に困難である。対流を抑制する1つの方法は試料の半径を小さくすることである。薄い試料に対して鋳込みによるシアセルを開発し、シアセル技法を使って拡散実験を行った。試料は直径3mmの毛細管内で鋳造することに成功した。上側では、完全な試料の分割に成功したが、下側では、回転キーは高温で曲がったため分割できなかった。回転キーはより強度のあるロッドが必要なこと、直径0.5mmの試料でシアセル実験を行えることが分かった。
It is hard to measure liquid diffusion coefficients on the ground because of the buoyancy convection. One way to suppress the convection is to reduce the sample radius. A shear cell with a casting system for thin samples was developed and a diffusion experiment by the shear cell technique was carried out. Samples were cast into 0.5 mm diameter capillaries successfully. The samples were successfully divided completely at the upper side, but the samples at the lower side were not divided because the rotation key bent at high temperature. It was found that the rotation key should be a rod with larger strength, and that the shear cell experiments with 0.5 mm diameter samples can be carried out.
