Note (General): 自然層流翼NLAM78の低速における基本特性と層流制御特性を調べるために試験を行なった。この翼型はマッハ数0.78を設計マッハ数とする遷音速自然層流翼であり、マッハ数0.6から0.85までの遷音速特性は文献1と2で報告されている。今回は低速域の基本特性として、まず様々な仰角の下で風速を20, 40, 60m/secと変えて、吸い込みなしの場合の翼表面圧力分布、および揚力と抵抗を測定した。層流翼型としての特性は弱いながらも保たれていた。また吸い込み試験もほぼ同じ条件で行なわれたが、ほぼ全ての試験条件において吸込みは抵抗低減に有効であった。
Wind tunnel tests have been executed to investigate the low speed aerodynamic characteristics of a Natural Laminar Flow (NLF) airfoil, NLAM78. The NLAM78 was originally designed as a transonic NLF airfoil with the design Mach number of 0.78 whose aerodynamic characteristics for Mach numbers between 0.6 and 0.85 were reported in references 1 and 2. Lift and drag coefficients as well as surface pressure distribution were measured at wind velocities V infinity of 20, 40 and 60 m/s for various angles of attack. The characteristics of NLF airfoil were weakly observed at low speeds. Suction tests were also conduced under almost the same conditions as non-suction ones, which verified large drag reduction for almost all test conditions.
