Note (General): A finite difference method was developed to simulate aircraft icing. An air flow was calculated by solving compressible Navier-Stokes equations directly. The accretion of ice to the NACA0012 airfoil at various angles of attack was calculated from trajectries of supercooled liquid drops through that flow.
