Note (General): A ventilated airfoil, wich has porous area or slits on its surface to generate passive ventilation, is expected to improve the lift-to-drag ratio in transonic flow region. The flow characteristics of ventilated airfoils are simulated numerically using an improved 2-D compressible Navier-Stokes analysis code with boundary condition modified for ventilation.
