A numerical simulation of unsteady turbulent flows through a supersonic compressor cascade is presented. The fundamental equations used here are the compressible Navier-Stokes equations of contravariant velocities and two-equation kappa-epsilon turbulence mode. These equations are numerically discretized by the implicit time-marching method in which some efficient numerical schemes are employed. Some of them are the Newton iterative algorithm for unsteady calculation, a new shock capturing scheme for obtaining oblique shocks more sharply and a numerical technique, so-called 'know-how' to simulate the turbulent transition due to the shocks. In addition to the numerical schemes, we have developed a numerical simulator to make the animation during the flow calculation by using a graphic work station. Therefore, we will also introduce this system.
