Note (General): The coherent structure in near wall region of turbulent channel flow with riblets are investigated using a visualization technique that utilizes fluorescent dye excited by an Argon laser light sheet in the case of a low Reynolds number. The results indicate that the increase of viscous sublayer thickness on the riblet wall and the behaviour of a pair of small streamwise vortices formed on the vertex of a triangle riblet play an important role in the drag reduction of near wall turbulence.
