Note (General): 宇宙開発事業団が開発中の液酸・液水エンジンの主点火器およびガス発生器用点火器について,194回,累積1440秒の低圧下(約10torr)における燃焼試験をおこなった。推進薬入口温度は130°Kから常温まで,燃焼室圧は主として1～4Kg/cm2・abs.,混合比は主として0.5～1.5の範囲とした。主点火器の作動は,燃焼室圧が1Kg/cm2・abs.付近で,着火遅れがあったり,燃焼効率が低下する場合があり,推進薬温度が低い場合には,不着火となる確率がきわめて高い。酸素リード時間±0.1秒の着火特性におよぼす影響は認められない。試験した4種類のエキサイタプラグのうち,電極材質が純ニッケルで,二次ギャップを有するコンデンサー放電型のものが,相対的に信頼性が高い。ガス発生器用点火器は,その燃焼室圧力1～7Kg/cm2・aで良好に着火し,その特性排気速度効率は90～95％と推定される。主点火器の着火限界および,点火器出口部の温度分布も求めた。
