Note (General): A new technique was developed to obtain temperature distribution maps on the exit plane of a gas turbine combustion chamber by use of an ultra-red image camera. The mixing of hot and cold gases through various arranged air-entry-holes in a cantype combustion chamber was investigated by this technique. Some of the findings are that a four-row peripheral arrangement of air-entry-holes gives better mixing effects than a seven-row peripheral arrangement, if the opening area and the cooling flow rate are fixed the same, and that the preferable momentum ratio of the air jets and the main stream per row of air-entry-holes is in the range of 0.5 and 0.6.
